K Force Enterprises LLC is a minority woman-owned development company organized in Michigan, and Detroit is the primary focus of its development work. K Force has established dedicated office space at 1420 Washington Boulevard in Detroit, rooting its team in the neighborhoods where it is building. Its purpose in the affordable housing field is to make a measurable difference by providing affordable housing in places where the need has never been in question, but the capital and the attention have been absent. The Midwest-Tireman site was that kind of opportunity, offering the chance to bring real investment to a corridor that has gone without it.

That commitment to Detroit was a key factor in the City's selection of the development team. The City selected this team because it brought together what HRD was looking for: new minority leadership, local roots, and proven development capacity. The City wanted K Force, led by Latina founder Karina De La Cruz, to lead the team as the Emerging Developer. In that role, K Force directs the day-to-day predevelopment of the projects, including predevelopment capital sourcing, entitlements, community and stakeholder engagement, preconstruction, and construction management oversight.
